Youthreach Shanagolden
Youthreach is an integral part of the National programme of 2nd chance education and training and is a central component of the governments' contribution to the achievement of a lifelong learning society. The Youthreach Shanagolden program is run by the Adult Education services of County Limerick VEC.
Youthreach Shanagolden facilitates young people in returning to learning and in preparation for employment and adult life, focusing on the holistic development of each individual.
Its General Objectives include:

• Active Citizenship
• Promotion of Life-long learning
• Certification
It is part of a multiplex in Shanagolden which also includes VTOS and community crèche. Young people between the ages of 16 and 21, who have left mainstream education early with little or no qualifications, can apply for a place on one of the three programmes run in the centre:
• FETAC General Education Certificate level 3
• Leaving Cert Applied
• FETAC Hairdressing Certificate level 5

The Arts / Enterprise / Hairdressing / Life - skills / Health & Safety /
Hotel catering & Tourism / Information Technology / Media

The programme is full time and runs from September to August.
